The Library no longer has a time limit for patron visits, study rooms and Vending Café are now open, and curbside service is available. Patrons are encouraged, but not required to wear facial coverings, with parents deciding for their children. 

MiLibraryQuest: Summer Edition 2021, June 1 – July 31. This is an opportunity for teens across the state to learn about unique animals and Michigan libraries! Go to our Field Guide to look up your animals and add them to your personal digital field journal.

The West Bloomfield Library will be closed on Sunday, July 4. It will reopen on Monday, July 5 at 10 AM.

Summer Reading Program

The West Bloomfield Library’s Tails and Tales summer reading program runs now through September 3. Kids, teens, and adults can register online at to start earning rewards for meeting reading milestones and completing select activities. The program fosters lifelong reading habits, broader summer learning, and library connections. Registration is open to residents of West Bloomfield, Keego Harbor, Orchard Lake, or Sylvan Lake or non-residents who attend Lone Pine Elementary or West Hills Middle School.

    Tuesdays through Aug 24 at 10:30 AM

  • Virtual D&D: Animal Adventures 
    Mondays, June 28 and July 12 at 7 PM
    Beginner and experienced players alike will enjoy this animal-themed rules-lite RPG. Characters will be provided. For grades 6-12.
  • Virtual Birds in Legend & Lore
    Monday, June 28 at 7 PM
    Relax as performer Gwyn Calvetti tells stories drawn from folklore and an original story or two, told in the time-honored oral tradition.
  • Virtual YA Book Club
    Wednesday, July 21 at 7 and 8 PM
    Read Adam Gidwitz's A Tale Dark and Grimm or Marissa Meyer's Cinder, then join us for a Zoom discussion about the book. For grades 6-12.

Bond Update

Planning and construction surrounding the exciting bond work in Bloomfield Hills Schools is well underway! A major milestone is the commencement of construction: the Groundbreaking Ceremonies! “North Hills Middle School” groundbreaking will be held at the site of former Lahser High School on Wednesday, May 26 at 5 p.m., and the “South Hills Middle School” groundbreaking will be held on Thursday, July 29, at 5 p.m., at Bloomfield Hills Middle School.
