Bloomfield Youth Assistance Seeks Nominations for Annual Award

Each year Bloomfield Youth Assistance honors students from our community who have proven to be outstanding citizens. We recognize positive behaviors are often overlooked, but we work to reward the young people who serve as models for their peers. These students reassure our community that the future is in good hands.

We ask that you consider the young people with whom you have contact and take this opportunity to nominate one or more students who you feel have made a special contribution and for whom this honor would be meaningful. The specific areas for recognition are (but not limited to):

  • Performance of an act of heroism
  • Provision of exceptional service within a club, organization or community
  • Provision of exceptional service to an individual or organization
  • Achievement by an individual based upon overcoming a personal challenge and setting an example in assisting others
  • Initiation of a new program or project to help others

While we do not view this award as a competition, a selection process is necessary. Therefore, we urge nominators to keep their submissions confidential. The nomination form is available here.

In addition to the online form, feel free to provide additional information to substantiate your nomination. This will help the selection committee evaluate your nominee fairly; the more you can elaborate on your candidate’s qualifications, the better the judges will be able to evaluate your nominee. You may consider strengthening your nomination by having a colleague who is acquainted with your nominee review your recommendation and provide additional information or by submitting additional documents such as a recommendation letter. In addition, a member of the committee can contact you for additional information at your request . A sample of a winning nomination can also be provided upon request. Please email any supporting documentation to or any other member of the recognition committee.

The recognition ceremony will be held at Bloomfield Hills High School or virtually this year
