The Spirit of Harriet Tubman
Monday, January 21 at 2 PM (Ages 8 and up)
Main Library Meeting Room
Leslie McCurdy embodies the spirit of Harriet Tubman as she portrays the life of the escaped slave who went on to be a "conductor" for the Underground Railroad, scout and spy for the Union Army, and a supporter of women's suffrage. With only a trunk of costumes and a barren stage as her landscape, McCurdy shares Harriet Tubman's empowering story, from her early childhood to her later years, using words said to have been Harriet's own. This is an inspiring, must-see performance. No registration is required.
