Enroll with Bloomfield Hills Schools

Determine residency status if you're unsure what school district you live in. You can search for your address.

This list is intended to help you through the enrollment process. In Step 3 you will be asked to upload the required documents. 

• Child's Original/Certified Birth Certificate. If your child was not born in the United States, a valid passport is acceptable.

• Parent/Guardian Identification (valid driver's license or picture identification card with district address).

• Official Immunization Record (use Immunization Checklist or submit copy of official record).

• Proof of Satisfactory Vision screening (for students enrolling in kindergarten), completed after age 3; submit statement from examining official.  Michigan Law requires a vision screening for kindergarten entrance.  Vision screening done in preschool by a health department technician or at a doctor’s office fulfills this requirement.  Oakland County Health Division offers free vision screening for County residents. Call (248) 424-7070 for an appointment.  Your child's pediatrician may have screened your child at a well visit, so that office is a great place to start.

• This proof of dental screening that must be complete within the past 6 months. In December 2023, a new law was passed in Michigan requiring students entering kindergarten to have a dental screening before or during their first school year. 

• Certified Copy of Appointment of Guardianship (if applicable).

• Special Services documents - Current IEP, MET or 504 for students receiving services (if applicable).

Verification of Residency

One of the following documents is required to prove residency

• Recent Property Tax Statement

• Current Lease/Rental Agreement (Include landlord contact information.)

• Closing Statement from a recently executed home purchase

PLUS...

One utility bill (water, electric, or gas) and one other piece of mail. Only accepting the following below (with district mailing address). Dates within the last 60 days are required to prove residency. Mail should be from different sources. Junk mail, or mail from Bloomfield Hills Schools is not accepted.

• Employer Pay Stub
• Car Insurance
• Voter Registration
• Homeowner Insurance

Complete the new student Pre-Enrollment Online Registration. This process will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes to complete. Complete this process using a computer (a smartphone or tablet is not recommended).

Once you complete the Online Pre-enrollment, email Student Services at Enroll@bloomfield.org to let us know your pre-enrollment is complete and a preferred start date. Someone from the team will contact you if there are questions or to let you know your enrollment is completed.
