Join the English language development department for Multilingual Family Night with guest speaker, Patricia Martins, on Thursday, April 25 from 6-8 p.m. at Bloomfield Hills High School Learning Community A.

In honor of National Reading Month, elementary students at Lone Pine and Eastover Elementary Schools were treated to a lively, interactive presentation by children’s book author Baptiste Paul.

First grade students in Bloomfield Hills Schools had a blast on a field trip back in time to the Wing Lake Schoolhouse. The one-room schoolhouse is the oldest school in Bloomfield. On the field trip, first grade students participated in four rotating stations: reading, writing, games, and chores.

Congratulations to all jazz band students on their outstanding performance at State Jazz Festival on March 19.

Bloomfield Hills High School 12th grader Joe Dillon received the honor of being named the 2024 MASC/MAHS Student of the Year. It's a remarkable achievement and a testament to Joe's dedication, leadership, and positive impact on his community.

Each year, students across the country submit writing and art pieces to the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards program, the nation’s longest-running, largest, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens. This year, many student writers and artists from Bloomfield Hills Schools received regional recognition for their creative works.

Black Hawk Fever, held at Bloomfield Hills High School, brought Bloomfield families together to celebrate community and athletics!

Registration is open now for Bloomfield Hills Schools’ GSRP Just Fours program for the 2024-25 school year. 

The Michigan Department of Education’s Great Start Readiness Program has expanded to increase early education options for young learners. GSRP is the nationally recognized state-funded preschool program offering kindergarten preparation for four-year-old children.

Across Bloomfield Hills Schools, students, staff and families are getting into the spirit of giving, with a variety of community service efforts.

Bloomfield Hills High School’s Kari Griesbeck, who has been teaching IB English since 2011, was recently named the International Baccalaureate Schools of Michigan 2023 recipient of the Jean Ramseyer Award for Excellence in Approaches to Teaching and Learning.

As we move into the season of giving thanks, teachers and faculty focus lessons and themes of the month accordingly. For two of our Bloomfield Hills Schools, the P.R.E.P. program and Bowers Academy, students gathered together to celebrate their first-ever Friendsgiving

A total of 49 students in grades 10-12 attended the first-ever Communications Camp, hosted at Camp Skyline in Almont, MI. Coordinated by Associate Principal Jason Ohrt, the goal of the multiple-day retreat was to build strong relationships amongst students of different social groups, and build a positive culture that will trickle down to the entire school community.

Elementary students learn to work together on projects in Lone Pine's STEAM sessions. The lessons in teamwork are essential for the educational growth of students.

English Language Department staff coordinated a multilingual family event, hosted at Bloomfield Hills High School, to help families connect, share culture, and learn about area resources.

In 1982, the West Hills Junior High School Social Studies classes buried a time capsule and left maps to help someone discover its location. The time capsule and associated maps were lost to time, until Summer 2023, when BHS Physical Plant Services crews unearthed a beat-up garbage can while installing the new lower elementary playground.

Each year, the Bloomfield Hills Schools Parent-Teacher Organization Council partners with a local organization for Make a Difference Day, which is celebrated annually on the fourth Saturday of October. This year’s partnership with Humble Design in Pontiac focused on assisting in the effort to end homelessness.
