Students Receive National Recognition Awards from College Board

Several students from BHHS were recently selected as College Board National Recognition Program awardees. These students not only had significant academic achievements, but also outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT®, PSAT™ 10, and/or AP® Exams.

Students who may be eligible have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have excelled on the PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10, or earned a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP Exams; and are African American or Black, Hispanic American or Latinx, Indigenous, and/or attend school in a rural area or small town.


The students, all in grade 12, who received this recognition are as follows (award key below):

The College Board further noted that these students have accomplished these milestones during an immensely demanding period of their high school career. Bloomfield Hills Schools couldn't be more delighted to share this great news.

  • National Hispanic Recognition Award = NHRA
  • National Indigenous Award = NIA

In addition, congratulations to the following students for their recent recognition by the College Board as AP Scholar Awards. The three levels include AP Scholar, AP Scholar with Honor, and AP Scholar with Distinction.

Award Criteria: 

  • AP Scholar - Granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.
  • AP Scholar with Honor - Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
  • AP Scholar with Distinction - Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
