The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is presented by The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers. Since 1923, The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards has encouraged more than 13 million students, recognized more than 2.5 million young artists and writers and distributed more than $25 million in awards and scholarships. The work of these students was selected by some of the foremost leaders in the visual and literary arts for excellence in originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. Only 3,000 works received a National Medal, which places these students within the top 1% of all submissions!
The Scholastic Art Awards National Awards Ceremony was scheduled to be held in New York City in June 2020. However, the ceremony is on-hold. When the ceremony is rescheduled, the winners will be honored at a celebration at Carnegie Hall. Additionally, the top-ranking high school seniors will have their art and writing exhibited at various galleries in New York City
Congratulations to Tori Karpach, Erin Schwartz and their art instructors, Matt Beauchamp, Barb Brownson and Peg Pasternak on these prestigious awards.
