BHMS Service as Action Experiences

Recently, 8th grade students from Bloomfield Hills Middle School worked with other BHS students on various service as action experiences. The 8th graders engaged in reading and writing activities with 2nd grade students from Conant Elementary, working to build confidence in the younger students’ academic skills while also fostering new relationships. The 8th graders also interviewed BHMS 5th graders to create and record ‘pep talks’ that will be shared out to spread positivity to others in an upcoming series, and they will sort and pack essential items collected for the needy to donate to Grace Centers of Hope.

Each event saw students working across grade levels, which helped to foster connections across our community in its own unique manner. From such experiences, our relationships strengthen, and from these connections, we validate each other.
