Library Card Design Contest June 1 – 30. Calling all artists! Your artwork could be featured on a new library card. The Library invites Bloomfield Township residents to submit a design for one of three new library cards. The contest runs June 1–June 30. Entries will be grouped into three categories: ages 12 and younger, 13–17 years old, and 18 and older. Entry forms for the contest will be available starting June 1 at the Youth Desk, Circulation Desk, and Adult/Teen Desk, along with a tray for submissions. All entries must be submitted on paper at the Library. Entry forms from minors must be signed by a parent/legal guardian. Entries are limited to one entry per person. Bloomfield Township residency is a requirement, and all entries must be received by Friday, June 30 at 6:30 p.m.
Teen Summer Volunteer Orientation Saturday June 3, 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We are looking for responsible, community-focused teens, ages 14-18 years old and in high school, that would like to volunteer in the Youth Department this summer. Eligible teens must either reside in the Bloomfield Township Public Library service area or be enrolled in Bloomfield Hills Public Schools. Teen volunteers will be assisting staff during children's programs, prepping materials for crafts, updating displays, and many other tasks. Sign up for orientation to learn about expectations, scheduling, and application forms.
