BHHS Seniors Receive Michigan Seal of Biliteracy

Congratulations the following BHHS seniors who received the Michigan Seal of Biliteracy for bilingualism: Omar Abou-Rass, Yaman Al Sabhat, Minjun Choi, Mohammad Hamo, Abu Ahmed Kowsar, Ali Shouman, and Amjad Kojan.

The Seal of Biliteracy is an award given to graduating seniors by the Michigan Department of Education in recognition of students who have attained proficiency in English and one or more languages by high school graduation.  This is the first year Bloomfield Hills High School students have been awarded this honor.

The Seal has been created to encourage students to study world languages and embrace their native and heritage languages. The Seal will provide employers with a way to identify individuals with strong language and biliteracy skills. The Seal may serve as an additional tool for colleges and universities to recognize applicants' language abilities for admission and placement.
