"Our theme to our concert was America! My favorite was the paper plate song. We clap our paper plates together. Each row has its own color: red in the front, white in the middle, and blue in the back. We dance and each row claps in a different direction. It looks really cool! But the very best part is the grand finale when we throw the paper plates into the air!" shares Savannah Astras, 2nd grader at Eastover. She laughs excitedly, adding "It is like fireworks on the 4th of July!"
"Ali Abukamil moved many to tears as he signed the The Star-Spangled Banner. His movements were dramatic and he showed so much emotion. I even surprised myself with a few tears." says Ms. Kacy, Second Grade Teacher. Ali Abukamil proudly says, "I worked hard every day for three weeks. I have never done anything like that before and I wasn't even nervous!" Carey Crocker, Principal, concludes, " We are very proud of all our 2nd graders. They worked hard and it showed."
