"The best thing about the cooking club is eating a meal with my friends!" shares John Cobb, a 5th grader at EHMS. "Second best would be chopping the fruits and vegetables. I learned how to cook, and now I can help prepare food at home. We also learn about different kind of herbs and how to use them. My favorite recipe is anything with pasta!"
Kids Cuisine is now offered to 4th and 5th graders at at EHMS. It was started five years ago at Eastover Elementary School by a group of enthusiastic families who wanted to teach students about good eating habits, and show them how healthy eating can be fun, exciting and tasty. Alongside kitchen skills, the children learn about good nutrition, fun facts about fruits and vegetables, how to read ingredient lists on packaged food, table manners, and much more.
