PREP Students Participate in Community Service Project

P.R.E.P. students visited Kirk in the Hills to work with the Senior High Youth Group to create musical instrument collection boxes for Accent Pontiac on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The students enjoyed discussion time, games, and decorated the collection boxes together.

Accent Pontiac is an El Sistema-inspired music program that uses music as a vehicle for social change with current programming for students at Whitman Elementary School in Pontiac.

"Accent Pontiac is a new initiative funded by the Kirk because of our long history of music in the community," says Katherine Kenum, Marketing and Communications Manager for Kirk in the Hills. "Tina Rowan, Artistic Director for Accent Pontiac, was excited to have the assistance of the Bloomfield Hills Schools PREP students."
