Science is Hot!

"I really like all the different science experiments we are doing!" says Lydia Beyer, second grade student.

Conant Elementary students studied how water, cold, and heat impact materials. Nia Ummadi describes, "Our first experiment was to freeze things, and now we are heating things up to see what happens."  Students immersed materials including ice cubes, peppermint candy, frosting, butter, chocolate chips, and a candle into hot water.

"When the wax candle was heated up in the hot water, the oil went all the way to the top and the wax stayed on the bottom!" exclaims Brady Gold.
