Student Ambassadors at Eastover

“I love being a Student Ambassador!  I feel good when I help the kindergartners feel safe and make friends.  They get excited to say hi when they see me around the school. It makes me feel like a big kid,” Liam Black, third grader, says.   Amber Spike and Olivia Roleston agree, explaining that when they help people solve their problems, it makes them feel better too. David Adewumi adds that if someone is angry, he likes to show them ways to calm down.  “I start by asking what they are feeling,” Adewumi shares. “Then I tell them to breathe deeply, and count slowly to ten. Using positive self talk is always helpful too. Every classroom has posters posted about these helpful techniques, and our teachers talk to us about it too.”
