Make a Difference Day is Saturday, October 26 @ Gleaners Community Food Bank
2131 Beaufait St. Detroit - 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
This year, we are partnering with Gleaners Community Food Bank to tackle hunger in Metro Detroit. BHS students of all ages and their families will come together at their Detroit location. For participating high school students, a limited amount of bus transportation will be provided for $5 per student. Bus check in will be at BHMS @ 8:30 am with departure at 8:45 am. Students will return back to BHMS at ~12:15 p.m.

Food and monetary donations are being accepted throughout the month of October at school.
BHHS is collecting canned foods such as fruit, vegetables, soups, pasta sauce (no glass jars please).

We are very grateful to everyone who baked and donated such a variety of treats for college representatives. We are thankful to have such a generous PTO team.
Coming Up - Fall Progress Conferences
Tuesday, November 12 and Wednesday, November 13 from 4-7 p.m. Sign-up for conferences will be at the end of October.
PTO Hospitality Committee provides dinner on Tuesday and snacks on Wednesday for teachers. Stay-tuned for how you can support this event.
PTO Grant Program has begun!
Applications are expected by Monday, October 28 for the exciting new ideas of student organizations, teachers and others. After review by the BHHS PTO Executive Committee, those selected will be presented to the PTO general membership for approval at the PTO November 11 meeting.

The 2019-20 school year is off to a great start – with the PTO already very active in achieving our goals: to support our school staff, assist with school events and provide families with opportunities to meet with school administrators and receive up to date information on school activities.
PTO membership dues are $30. You can pay online through the links below or if you prefer, you may pay by check (payable to BHSD with BHHS PTO in the memo line) and drop your check off in the main office.

- We have many volunteer opportunities such as baking treats for school events and assisting at the school dances. Tell us how you would like to be involved.
