Congratulations to the Bloomfield Hills High School Marching Band, for receiving perfect scores at the annual Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association Festival! The BHHS field served as the location for the District IV Marching Band Festival for the third year in a row, hosting seven area high school bands. Band Director Alan Posner shares, “It is a huge honor to receive straight one's from the adjudicators. There are three adjudicators who are responsible for different areas. One concentrates on marching, another on music, and the last adjudicator looks at the ‘general effect’ or how the marching/choreography combines with the music.”
With its show theme of “Takin’ Up Space,” the BHHS Marching Band performed space-themed tunes: Also Sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss, Mars by Gustav Holst, Hooked on a Feeling by Mark James, and the Theme from the Mandalorian Theme from Star Wars, by Ludwig Göransson.
Thank you to Band Director Alan Posner; Assistant Director Kendra Peterson; the three Drum Majors, seniors Brandon Ho, Akita Kotian, and Dylan Young; and the Bloomfield Band and Orchestra Boosters for supporting this event!
