Who should I call if my child is ill or has to miss school for a medical appointment?

You should call the attendance line at 248.341.6010. You can leave a message 24 hours a day. Call before 9 a.m. if your student is ill for the day. or as early in the day as possible if your child has to leave school for an appointment. You will have to come in to the office to sign your child out.

What if my child forgets Their lunch?

You can drop off the lunch in the office. We cannot deliver lunches, but we do place them in a special spot in the cafeteria. Students know where to look for them. It's a good idea for students to keep a few extra dollars in their locker or book bag for these kind of emergencies.

How do I use the lunch account system?

Send in a check in any amount made out to Bloomfield Hills Schools. Put your child's name in the memo section of the check and have your child give the check to the cafeteria staff in the morning.

How can I get a Student Directory?

Families have access to an online student directory.

What are the school hours?

The school day begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:20 p.m. Half school days end at 11:50 a.m.  Students cannot be in the building unsupervised prior to 8:15 a.m. or past 3:20. The office hours are 7:15 a.m. until 3:45 p.m.

Does my child need a physical to participate in sports?

Absolutely! The rules are fairly stiff on this one. The physical must be performed by the doctor no earlier than April 15 of the previous year. A new physical is required every year, and the doctor, the parent, and the athlete MUST sign the form provided by the District. Forms are available in all school offices and under the "Athletics" portion of our website.

Are there opportunities for parent involvement?

Please do become involved! Join PTO and sign up to work on a committee. Come to PTO meetings and sign up to work in the Health Clinic. If you work during the day, call the chairperson of a committee you are interested in and ask if there are opportunities for evening involvement.

Who should I call if I have concerns?

For concerns of a general nature, contact your child's teacher. You can call a coach or the athletic director for concerns relating to sports. For concerns which are of a serious or personal nature, feel free to contact your child's counselor, or the Associate Principal or Principal. No concern is small. If you are wondering whether or not to call us, please do!
