This was an exciting week as we welcomed some students to the Bower's School Farm for our first week of optional field trips. The weather largely cooperated, and the kiddos were excited to see the animals, some of their classmates, and their teachers. The horses were a big hit, as were the turkeys! Thanks to Alan Jaros, Brooke Larm, and the rest of the Farm staff for creating a safe and exciting visit for our families.
As we near Election Day, I want to invite you to talk to your child/ren about our voting process if you haven't already. My parents were not citizens of the U.S. until just a few years ago, and I remember being in elementary school learning right alongside them about the voting process in the United States. It was a great way to have shared conversations about other voting systems around the world as well. I always feel that a book is a great starting point in conversations about just about any topic, and there are several that are non-partisan and really focus on the history of voting in our country and the way the process works. Vote for Our Future by Margaret McNamara is a great book to start that conversation.
Finally, please note the ways you can get involved in Make a Difference Day this year in the district notes below.
Have a terrific weekend,
