Stewards Leadership Program

Bowers School Farm will run 8 weeks of hands-on, science-based camps for youth ages 6–10. “Stewards” will serve in a leadership capacity where their duties range from assisting with activities to group management. Stewards and campers spend a majority of their day out-and-about on the farm!

Not only will your time count towards community service but, more importantly, you will gain great experience working in both an agricultural and educational setting. The farm in the summertime is exciting and you will  build great job skills. Being a steward, while fun, can be a demanding job! We are looking for self starting, motivated and energetic students who are looking for a unique experience.

Interested students should enjoy working with children and being outside. We look for stewards with a "can do" attitude who are not afraid to be silly, but can also take initiative and be positive role-models to our campers.

We invite high school students, who have completed their freshman year and will enter their sophomore year next school year (2019-2020) to participate. We ask that all stewards commit to at least 2 full-week sessions (Monday - Friday; 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.).

Given the nature of this role, all stewards must attend a mandatory, day-long training. This year, training is on Tuesday, June 18 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
