National Assistant Principals Week

National Assistant Principals Week is April 5–9, 2021! Bloomfield Hills High School has three Associate Principals: Jessica Lupone, Cathy McDonald, and David Reed-Nordwall. Bloomfield Hills Middle School’s interim AP is David Baker; East Hills Middle School’s AP is Angie Konzen; and West Hills Middle School’s AP is Melissa Palmeri. These dedicated administrators help and support our students and staff on a daily basis, building positive culture, and assisting with all the details that make our schools run smoothly. Holocaust Remembrance Day

This year, the U.S. observes Holocaust Remembrance Day on Thursday, April 8, corresponding with the Jewish day of remembrance, Yom HaShoah. The Holocaust Memorial Center in West Bloomfield is hosting The Kappy Family Anne Frank and Elie Wiesel Night Art & Writing Competitions, to educate students about the Holocaust, engaging them through Anne Frank and Elie Wiesel's profound stories and empowering them to move from thought to action using creative expression.

This year's art and writing competition, open for students in 7th - 12th grades, is themed "The Power of Memory." The entry deadline is April 16, with a virtual Awards Ceremony on June 16. Learn more here.

Food Service Details

The food service department will be transitioning to serving FREE meals to be eaten at school for in-person learning. They will only be sending bags home on prescheduled ½ day sessions moving forward, when students don’t have the opportunity to eat in school. All meals will continue to be FREE until the end of the 2020­‐21 school year,

Starting Tuesday, March 23, 2021, students will be offered meals during their scheduled lunch period at school to be eaten in the area designated for them by the school they attend. Each meal will be individually wrapped and then boxed.

Mask Reminders

As a reminder, please be sure your child’s mask follows the Bloomfield Hills Schools mask guidelines. Face masks can be either reusable or disposable. They should fit tightly over your entire nose and mouth. Masks must have school-appropriate graphics. Masks should NOT have valves. Masks with valves are not permitted in Bloomfield Hills Schools. Students and staff are welcome to wear face shields brought from home, but they are not required. They may be worn in addition to a face mask. Neck gaiters and bandannas are not sufficient face coverings. They may be worn in addition to a face mask. Neck gaiters must have school-appropriate graphics.
