East Hills and Eastover Science Fair

Inventor? Maker? ... Sign up for the Science Fair!

Hello Eastover and East Hills families! Due to increased interest, we have extended the deadline to sign up for the 2018 Science Fair by one week. The new deadline is Wednesday, February 28.  Please visit our website to get more information and sign up via our online form. Looking forward to seeing you at the fair!

It's back! One night only. Tuesday, March 13, 2018, 6:30-8:00pm. Open to all grades K-8th. This year's theme is "Tinker Time!" but feel free to pick any topic you like. We've added some great new stuff, including an optional Art Exhibit. Also new this year, we've partnered with the Bloomfield Township Public Library. They'll be offering FREE workshops to help you with your topic and project.

Also new this year, we've added an art component option to the Science Fair. If you love art and design, this is for you! Choose a scientist,or a scientific principle or topic, and design an 8.5" x 11" poster to reflect what you've learned. You'll submit your poster a week before the science fair and it will be on
display when you arrive on March 13th. This is a stand-alone, optional part of the fair. You can
participate in both, creating a poster and a project, or you can choose just one or the other.
Poster Requirements:
• 8.5" x 11" - portrait or landscape
• Any medium - paint, collage, digital, etc.
• Must be printed out if created digitally
• Must have information form attached
• Must be turned in to the school office by Fri, Mar. 2

Winter Weather Dress

Dear Families,
Winter Gear
It is that time of year again..."SNOW SEASON". As the temperature continues to drop, we will go out for recess unless the temperature drops below 10 degrees with the wind chill or there are harsh weather conditions (rain, sleet, hail, etc.)
Having 450 children with many extra clothing needs, we need your help.
It is easiest to manage winter clothes if your children have a reusable bag (not plastic, it is messy) with their name on it to house all of their winter gear.
Please make sure your child's winter coat, snow pants, boots, hat, and gloves are LABELED with your child's name. You will be amazed how many children lose their hats and gloves and do not recognize the missing ones that are actually theirs.
Another thing I would like to mention is that snow boots are required (due to the snow). Having wet boots in the room makes our classroom floor slippery and unsafe. Please make sure your child has a pair of indoor shoes to change into. Wearing winter boots all day is messy and very uncomfortable.
Thank you so much for your assistance with winter clothing.
