Summer Camps at the Nature Center



 

 

Once Upon a Time (Ages 3-5) 
August 19 - 23
9 AM - 12 PM
Children will dive into their most beloved stories through nature-based activities. Each day will feature a new book and include these classics: We're Going on a Bear Hunt, Where the Wild Things Are, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See, and Little House in the Big Woods. Children will experience these stories through nature crafts, games and role playing to awaken a natural wonder of the prairies, pond and forest at the Nature Center. Campers must be potty trained. Dress to mess!

Eco-Explorers (Ages 4-5) 
July 8-12 
9 AM - 12 PM
Young children will learn about the natural world that surrounds them, get a chance to see nature up close and get their hands dirty. We will hike the trails, seek out animal habitats and discover what lives in the water. Dress to mess. Campers must be potty trained.

Nature Play (Ages 4-5) 
August 12 - 16
9 AM - 12 PM
Children love to play and can easily turn a twig into a toy or a mud puddle into a play area.  But play is more than just fun and games - it is vitally important for a child's healthy development.  Participants will be fully emerged in the outdoors with activities to explore nature, create nature crafts and learn about the habitat around them.  Campers must be potty trained.  Remember to dress to mess!

Junior Naturalist (Ages 6-10) 
July 15 - 19
9 AM - 3 PM
Do you love nature? Discover a passion for all that nature has to offer. A walk through the woods and a stroll along the water's edge. These are what Naturalists do to better understand the world around them. Learn about the animals and plants that call the Nature Center home. Bring a lunch and dress to mess.

Art in Nature (Ages 6-10) 
July 22 – July 26
9 AM - 3 PM
Where does your imagination take you?  Nature has an amazing palate for us to create wondrous things!  We will use natural building materials and make magic with nature.

Log Cabin Life (Ages 6-10) 
July 29 - August 2
9 AM -12 PM
What was it like to grow up 100 years ago? Discover pioneer living at the Log Cabin. We will learn tasks of daily living, make candles and play pioneer games. Bring a lunch and be ready to work!

GRAND Camp 
(Ages 3-10 with a Grandparent) 
They grow up so fast, why not spend those precious moments creating memories of a lifetime outside in nature?  Join us for a two-day experience playing games, exploring nature, and slowing down to enjoy just being outside together. Second day will include fishing and a picnic. Activities are outside, so please dress according to the weather and be prepared to get messy.
Monday & Tuesday, August 5 & 6 or Wednesday & Thursday August 7 & 8
9 am to 12 pm
