Way News

Dear Families,

Flu season is in full swing. For the good of the many, please take your child seriously when you hear, "I'm not feeling great today," and have your child stay home. Too frequently we have students coming to school ill only to be sent home soon after arrival. This strain has been a tough one as we have students and staff missing up to a week of school. As a reminder, students should not return to school until 24 hours fever free. The same rule is in effect for students who have thrown up. We will continue to remind our students of the importance of hand washing as well as other preventative techniques.

Stay healthy and enjoy your weekend.

Way News 1/12/18

Dear Way Families,

Please take the time to read these two important pieces:

When entering the building, it's vital that you check in with the office before heading to a classroom. We are responsible for our students' safety and we take that responsibility seriously. From time to time a parent will take their child out of the classroom without first checking in at the front office. This can result in confusion during dismissal and slows our process down considerably. We also prefer calling students down to the office so as to create the least disruption to classroom learning.

With bad weather conditions, buses may arrive later to the building. Unfortunately, some families are not obeying the rules of the bus loop, so I want to remind everyone that we have a dedicated drop off and pick up spot for students. Do not use the bus loop for drop off or pick up. Additionally, if you are stopped and told to return to the drop off site, please head out to Long Lake and start the process all over again. Driving the wrong way back into the parking lot is dangerous.

Safety is always our first concern. Tending to these two details will help to ensure safety.

Enjoy your weekend,
