Dear West Hills School Community:

What a fabulous year it has been!  Monday's Carnival for 4th-7th grade was certainly a highlight of this week for many.  Thank you to Loren Schwartzenfeld and Rachel Matzkin-Bridger for all of your organizational talents in making this event happen!  On Thursday afternoon, we celebrated our fifth graders' completion of their elementary careers. It was so nice to have so many loved ones join us to honor our newest middle schoolers!  A special thank you to our eighth graders and their families for making this a memorable year!  Thursday’s 8th Grade End-of-the-Year Party at Bowers Farm was such a fun celebration for our students!  A huge thank you to Julie Yaker and Stephanie Langwell, along with a great team of volunteers, for organizing a fantastic party that truly sent our students off in style.  Our eighth grade also did a tremendous job yesterday at their recognition ceremony. We are so proud of all of their efforts while at West Hills. They are a talented group, who have left an important legacy, and we look forward to following them as they go on to do so many great things!

Thank you to our WHMS PTO and for the service as co-Presidents of Carole BenEzra and Lauren Canner over the past two years.  The opportunities supported by this organization continue to enhance our students' experiences during their years at WHMS.

Also thank you to both Mrs. Steaban and Mrs. Jones in the main office for all their help "keeping the ship afloat" this school year.  We could not have done it without them!

As we head off in different directions for the summer, please take time to enjoy your children.  If there is anything we can do to help over the summer, please do not hesitate to contact us.

HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!

Two quotes for the last message of the school year . . .

In honor of the upcoming Father's Day . . .
"My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me."  - Jim Valvano

In honor of our 8th graders (and really all of our school community) . . .
“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”  - Winne the Pooh

The third annual district-wide Multicultural Celebration is set for the evening of Monday, March 30th, at Bloomfield Hills High School!  This event showcases cultures from around the globe, represented by our own Bloomfield Hills School district students and families.  If you enjoy planning events, love to celebrate cultural diversity, and like meeting parents from across the district, this is the committee for you!  The committee meets about once a month, and plans details like the event theme, the packet for participants, school communications, coordinating food and volunteers, and much more!  Please contact Leah Abel at leahabel@hotmail.com if you're interested!
