West Hills Online Club Sign Up - Sign-Up by Sunday, November 22!

Clubs at West Hills are intended to meet a wide range of interests.  Linked below is a brief description of the clubs that are being offered this school year.  Due to continued precautions related to COVID-19, all club meetings will be virtual for the time being. In an effort to improve family involvement in the club selection process, we are again providing an online sign-up process.  Students will be able to sign up online with their school-issued Bloomfield email address.  Parents/guardians are also able to sign up their child(ren) using their personal email address as well.  If a parent or guardian is entering the sign-up information, please complete one form per child.  We encourage students and families to discuss the best way to complete the survey (either at home together as a family or by the student individually).  Bloomfield Hills Virtual West Hills students in 4th and 5th grade are welcome to participate and be club members as well as West Hills middle school students who are in the remote sections.

The sign-up window for clubs is now open.  Some clubs will begin as early as Friday, November 20.   After submitting your club sign-up form, the club sponsor will send a follow-up email with the Zoom link for your club selections prior to the first meeting of the club.

The IB Learner Profile Trait for January: COURAGEOUS

Embrace Courage to Take Action and Make Positive Change:

As we move into the second half of our school year we continue to talk to students about ways to take action and reflect on those experiences.  Taking action to make our world a better place is a characteristic that we value at our school.  Service is one form of action. We define service as action that has a reach beyond the classroom with the purpose of making change.

8th-Grade Trip Update - January 5, 2021

January 8, 2021 was originally listed as the date you needed to decide to either confirm or cancel the trip for your child.  I have been working with Student Adventures to move the trip to June, which will provide us more time to determine whether or not the trip will proceed.  Additionally, we are exploring other options in order to ensure the greatest chance of having an 8th-grade trip experience for your child.  If you had not previously registered for the D.C. trip, you will still have an opportunity once we have finalized details for the revised trip.
