Welcome Kelly McGraw, New BHS School Resource Officer

You may see a new face around Bloomfield Hills Schools, working with our well-known and beloved School Resource Officer Marisa Miller: Officer Kelly McGraw is learning the ropes this school year, and will officially begin as the School Resource Officer in September 2022.

After graduating from Lake Superior State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, McGraw served as the first female officer for the Alpena City Police Department for four years. For 15 years, McGraw has worked with the Bloomfield Township Police Department and is a Defensive Tactics Instructor, Women’s Self-Defense Instructor, Evidence Technician, and a Crisis Intervention Officer (CIT).

McGraw was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula and enjoys traveling to both cities and natural settings. During college, McGraw studied abroad in Mexico and Costa Rica. A camper, runner, and swimmer, McGraw loves exploring nature and traveling to the National Forest. With a husband and two daughters ages 13 and 10, along with two energetic Boston Terriers, McGraw is excited to work in a school setting: “I am looking forward to being a team member in the support of the well-being of students, school staff, and families and providing them with a safe environment,” said McGraw.

Bloomfield Hills Schools is excited to welcome Kelly McGraw as the newest member of our safety and security team!
